Getting Your Partner Onboard With An Investment

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of knowing you have the full belief of your spouse, supporting you in your business.

But what do you do if when that support isn’t there?

How can you get your husband (or you partner) to support you when they may be facing their own doubts about how success may change you or their own frustrated ambitions?

Ideally, your guy is behind you every step of the way.

But the reality is, a lot of coaches struggle with getting the rock solid, unconditional support their heart craves.

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t think my husband will go for this” when it comes to investing in your coaching business then you know what I’m talking about.

Today I wanted to share my insights on getting your loved one on board in supporting as you invest in growing your coaching business.

I’m also giving you a script you can use to get your loved ones support, while standing in your feminine power.

Step #1 Be A Woman Of Your Word

Growing a successful business takes tremendous courage of your convictions and confidence. And sometimes, hitting a speed bump such as losing an important client or not making the sales you anticipated can shake your confidence.

While inwardly, you may feel like you want to crawl in bed and pull the covers over your head, this is the moment where you must stay committed to pursuing your dream.

Which means instead of quitting, giving up or hiding out behind “I guess it wasn’t meant to be” you pick yourself up, learn from what happened and try again.

And be sure that when you join a coaching program or invest in training course or in home study programs that you participate actively, do the exercises, implement what you’re learning and take advantage of every benefit being offered.

By demonstrating commitment to your own success all the way through your business journey, you’ll gain greater self respect…and the respect of your loves.

Step #2 Stop Playing “Little Girl”

Be honest — when you’re talking to your partner about your business plans, are you inwardly seeking permission and hoping to gain approval? All this kind of behaviour sets him up to be the protector.

When you come to him with the energy of “would this be ok” or “what do you think?” Chanses are it will trigger the first two protective mechanisms in his brain.

Here are his thoughts…

a) Is this opportunity safe - probably not because she sounds unsure.

b) Is this opportunity pain free - probably not because there will be a financial investment involved that may not work out.

Instead, have an honest conversation with him where you say,

“Your love and support mean so much to me.

I’ve recently found a training that will really help me create the business success I’ve been working so hard to achieve.

My plan is to give this training my full commitment and use it to help me start breaking through what is blocking me and changing the way I think about getting clients and making money into a more positive and achievable one.

This training will give me the specific how-to’s that I need to make money with my coaching and I’m excited that it is all laid out for me.”

Let him know exactly how he can support you in specific, actionable ways.

For example, let him know you may need more help around the house or spending more time looking after the children.

Remember, your relationship is a partnership, where both people are making contributions.

Step #3 Don’t Take On Your Mate’s Emotional Stuff

Watching someone pursue their dream can trigger in others feelings of frustrated ambition, fear of losing the relationship they’re accustomed to, insecurities, wanting you to stay who you are and so much more.

And these deep feelings can often erupt, causing disagreements or difficulties in your relationship over the slightest thing. Now is the time to talk it through.

While it’s important to be compassionate about what your partner may be going through, it’s crucial that you let them own their own feelings, and you own yours.

Which means not reacting when they may feel upset, and instead, seeing them for what they are in the moment: scared.

This is a journey you’re both on and your business can be an amazing opportunity for you to stand in your power in new and exciting ways!

Your entrepreneurial journey is an extraordinary opportunity for you to live a life of meaning, contribution and fabulous income. And all because of learning how to stand in your power with feminine grace and ease, both at home and in your business.

And while I can’t promise that every moment is easy or blissful (I wish!) what I can promise is that the you that you become as a result of your entrepreneurial journey is someone you’ll be proud of!

Love
